أعرب صحافيون وناشطون على مواقع التواصل الاجتماعي عن غضبهم من الترحيب بولي العهد السعودي محمد بن سلمان في أوساكا، خلال مشاركته في قمة العشرين، بعد أيام فقط على تقرير للأمم المتحدة يُشير إلى ضلوعه في اغتيال الصحافي جمال خاشقجي.
ونشر الصحافيون صور زعماء حول العالم، أبرزهم الرئيس الأميركي دونالد ترامب، بينما يصافحون ويلتقون بن سلمان، معربين عن سخطهم للتغاضي عن دم الصحافي. وتجاهل ترامب، السبت، خلال لقاء بن سلمان، أسئلة حول اغتيال خاشقجي، واصفاً الأمير السعودي بأنّه “صديق”.
وكتب الصحافي نيكولاس كريستوف: “قام الأمير المجنون بقتل كاتب عمود في واشنطن بوست وصديق لي، (…..) ناهيك عن بدء حرب في اليمن تؤدي إلى أسوأ أزمة إنسانية في العالم. بخلاف ذلك، هو رجل جيد”.
وغرّد مايكل بوزيورك: “مذهل. في قمة العشرين في أوساكا، انتقل محمد بن سلمان من الطرف قبل عام في الأرجنتين – بسبب ارتباطه بقتل الكاتب في واشنطن بوست جمال خاشقجي – إلى الأمام والوسط، بجانب دونالد ترامب. يا للفارق الذي يُحدثه عامٌ واحد”.
وقال بيتر بايكر: “قبل أسبوع، وجهت الأمم المتحدة الأصابع له بأنه العقل المدبر المحتمل وراء واحدة من أكثر جرائم القتل بشاعة وإثارة في السنوات الأخيرة. ولكن الآن إم بي إس السعودي يتجول في أوساكا مع الرؤساء ورؤساء الوزراء، بما في ذلك تناوله الإفطار مع ترامب”.
وكتبت جينا: “بعد ذلك، سوف نسمع دونالد يتحدث عن رسائل الحب المرغوبة التي تلقاها من المنشار مبس. لن ننسى أبداً جمال خاشقجي حتى لو كان الخائن الخاطف المغتصب يفعل. نحن الشعب لا نتغاضى عن استخدام المناشير على الناس الذين لا يزالون على قيد الحياة”.
